Alejandro Beacco Porres
Research & Interest
ResumeMy name is Alejandro Beacco Porres and I recently received my PhD in Computer Science from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). My research is focused in the improvement of the simulation, animation and visualization of crowds in real-time.
My knowledge in crowd animation and visualization is also extensive to 3D character animation, and 3D rendering techniques for dynamic objects or characters. Furthermore, I’ve conducted some user evaluations for validating our techniques. I also have knowledge developing OpengGL applications (C++, GLSL), using scripting languages (C-based languages, C#) for virtual reality applications (XVR) or game engines (Unity), and the usage of 3D modelling and animation specific software, such as 3D Studio Max, Motion Builder or Blender.
From May 2008 to December 2014 I have been a member of MOVING, within the VIRViG research group, in which I have participated in several projects, with the role of developer and researcher. The projects have covered several computer graphics topics, such as 3D navigation in virtual environments and 3D characters animation and integration.
