ResumeKristopher J. Blom been a post-doctoral research scientist in since October 2010. I am working in the traverse and VERE projects.
Previously, he was a post-doc at the im.ve lab at the University of Hamburg, Germany, where he previous completed his doctorate. He was a founding member the im.ve group with Dr. Steffi Beckhaus and acted as the im.ve lab director and involved in all aspects of im.ve research and teaching.
He received his MS in Computer Engineering from the Iowa State Unversity, while working as a research assistant in VRAC. He completed the MS under guidance from Carolina Cruz-Niera. During his time at VRAC, he also performed research at the Naval Research Labs and at Argonne National Laboratories. In addition, he spent a year in 2002 as a research scientist at the Franhofer Institue for Media Communication (IMK) in the VE Group under Martin Göbel.
